Chaos was witnessed after a patient died today at Oxford Hospital Jalandhar. Relatives of the deceased blocked Nakodar Chowk outside the hospital.
As per the information given by the deceased's family members, Leela Devi (75), was earlier in SGL Hospital. They referred her family to shift her to Oxford Hospital. She was admitted to Oxford Hospital on April 22 in the afternoon. She was completely stable till night and even had a conversation with her family. In the morning, around 4:46 A.M. the hospital informed her family that she was no more. They didn't inform her family about her health conditions. Moreover, the treatment was carried out by a junior doctor and the hospital did ECG after declaring her dead.
"The hospital called me at 4:46 A.M. and said that my grandmother was critical. They said we need to shift her to the ventilator and when we arrived she was on the ventilator. They didn't share any report of my grandmother with us. After her death, they were giving excuses that her BP fluctuated, her blood cells decreased and so on. If so many issues were there why didn't they intimate us. The Dharna will be removed only when they will give us a proper clarification," said Leela Devi's grandson.

Her family members stated, "Dr. Gurbeer Singh Gill and his team are not ready to meet them. The hospital is saying they are in Phagwara. MLA Raman Arora is also here with us but the hospital didn't bother to address him as well. They are threatening us that SSP is their brother and have called bouncers too."

"I got a call in the morning that a patient has died in Oxford Hospital due to its negligence. We have formed a committee to investigate the entire matter. Once I will get to know all the details I will share the report with you soon. According to Doctors, the patient was suffering from Kidney stones and the infection spread to her entire body due to which she died. The family has filed an F.I.R. against the Hospital. I will make sure that they will get justice," said MLA Raman Arora.
The police reached the spot after the ruckus was created and is investigating the entire matter.
