Ramesh Taurani, the founder of Tips films, has confirmed that Saif Ali Khan is back in 4th instalment of the Race franchise. He has said that Saif Ali Khan will be seen in the lead role in this upcoming movie.
Film producer Ramesh Taurani said, “Saif will be back in the Race franchise, and we are excited to have him on board. He did a great job in the first two films. The film will boast an ensemble cast, and we are finalizing the script and cast. We haven't finalised the director either. We will announce the film officially before we go on floors, most likely next year.”
Ramesh also shared that Race 3 performed well in the box office in comparison of the previous two instalments. He said, “The third part did better business than the previous two instalments. We had expected the film to earn between Rs 200 to 250 crores, but it grossed over Rs 180 crore, which is not insignificant. For all of us, it was a profitable film.”
“The only difference is that the first two parts received good reviews from critics, while the third one didn't garner a good response. However, we are leaving no stone unturned for the fourth part,” he further added.
Ramesh has mentioned that this 4th instalment will most likely hit the theatre screens in 2025. Race is popular Bollywood action franchise movie. The first movie of this franchise titled Race was released in 2008. The movie starred Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, and Sameera Reddy. The second movie titled Race 2 was released in 2013. It starred Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ameesha Patel and Bipasha Basu. Race 3 was released in 2018 and it featured Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem and Freddy Daruwala.
The producer has also opened up about his plan to make Soldier 2. He said, “We want to make Soldier 2, it is a good franchise film. We are working on developing the script.”
