Mumbai Police on Monday received a call from a taxi driver who alleged that two ‘suspicious-looking’ men had asked him for directions to industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence, Antilia.
A taxi driver in Mumbai informed the police that two youths were asking him the address of Antilia. He looked suspicious. He was carrying a black bag, one of which had a beard. He was talking in Urdu. After this, the police swung into action and security was beefed up by creating a blockade around the house.
The statement of the driver was recorded by the police and an investigation started by them related to the same matter.
The police told the media on Monday, "We received a call from a taxi driver that two people had approached him, asking for the location Mukesh Ambani's residence Antilia."
"Both men asking for the address had a large bag in their hand, after which the taxi driver immediately informed the Mumbai Police about this. The driver's statement is being recorded and a senior officer is monitoring the situation,” the police said.
The police said CCTV footage is being checked and a DCP-level rank officer monitoring the situation.
Earlier, In February, an explosives-laden SUV was found parked outside 'Antilia', triggering panic. The car was carrying 20 sticks of gelatin and a letter - the contents of which haven't been released - addressed to Mr Ambani and his wife, Nita Ambani.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), had in June, arrested several people
including dismissed API Sachin Waze in connection to the case.
The car belonged to a Thane businessman Mansukh Hiran, whose body was found in the Mumbra creek.

Antilia is the most expensive and biggest house of the country in which Mukesh Ambani lives, the richest man of the country. Antilia is 27 storeys and is built in 400,000 square feet. The Ambani family has lived in this bungalow since 2012.
