Shaun Tait appointed as Pakistan's bowling coach ahead of series against Australia

Ahead of the Pakistan vs Australia tour, the PCB has appointed former Australian speedster Shaun Tait as the bowling coach.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming home Test series against Australia. Pakistan will be locking horns with Australia in 3 Tests, 3 ODI, and 1 T20 series. Pakistan vs Australia tour will see the 'Kangaroos' traveling to Islamabad after a span of 24 years. Pakistan vs Australia series will start on March 4 includes three Tests, three ODIs and a one-off T20I. Now, ahead of the Pakistan vs Australia tour, the PCB has appointed former Australian speedster Shaun Tait as the bowling coach. 

Shaun Tait's appointment as Pakistan bowling coach was mentioned in the official release of the PCB declaring the team for the Pakistan vs Australia tour. As per the PCB's official release three changes have been made since Pakistan's series against Bangladesh. Haris Rauf, who was in the side for the South Africa and Zimbabwe Tests in 2021, has returned to replace off-spinner Bilal Asif, while Shan Masood, who last played in New Zealand in the 2020-21 season, has taken over from Abid Ali, who is completing his rehabilitation after being diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome. Yasir Shah has been added to the reserve pool.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed Saqlain Mushtaq will continue as head coach for another 12 months, while it also announced the appointments of Shaun Tait as fast bowling coach for 12 months and Mohammad Yousuf as batting coach for the Australia series.
