Actress-Model Sherlyn Chopra has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Bombay High Court. Sherlyn is accused of publishing pornographic content on free pornographic websites. Sherlyn's application claimed that her content was subscription-based for international portal and she was a victim of piracy. Earlier, the session court dismissed her anticipatory bail plea in the case filed against Sherlyn.

Justice PD Naik has extended the hearing of the case till Monday. He took this decision when the Prosecution stated that no coercive action would be taken against her.

A 67-year-old retired custom and central excise officer, Madhukar Kenny, complained to the cyber police. This complaint was made on 31 October 2020. The complainant had given a pen drive and also complained to the names of several adult content platforms. He alleged that when Chopra's name was written in a search engine, many of his pornographic videos appeared on the screen.

On November 9, 2020, the Nodal Cyber ​​Police registered FIR against 22 people, including Sherlyn, under sections 292 of the IT Act 2008, section 67-67A, and several sections of the Indecent Representation of Women (Protection) Act 1986.

In her anticipatory bail plea, Sherlyn has described herself as a business woman and actor. The petition was filed by her lawyer Charanjit Chanderpal. The petition states that she makes adult content for the international market. He wrote that she has never been called by the police to record her statement. Presently, she is not an accused but a victim
