In an awkward but hilarious incident, Congress interim Chief Sonia Gandhi’s voice was heard during a Supreme Court hearing. The hearing was regarding the Coronavirus vaccine and Sonia Gandhi was also heard talking about Coronavirus itself.

The hearing in the topmost court was about to begin. Kapil Sibal called Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and asked the control room to unmute him. After this Tushar Mehta requested to unmute P Chidambaram. Then the voice of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was heard and everyone started laughing on hearing the voice, after which Kapil Sibal asked to stop it.

Sonia Gandhi was talking about Covid19 in her speech going on CWC.

The hearing was held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. It began at 11 am but there were technical glitches and the judges went off-screen. Later the bench of Justice DY Chandrachud, LN Rao, and S Ravindra Bhat adjourned the hearing to Thursday. The court said, “Our server is down today. We judges had a discussion among ourselves and have decided to take up the matter on Thursday.”

Earlier, the Supreme Court had questioned the center about its vaccination policy and other measures they are planning to fight the novel coronavirus. Responding to these questions the Center had filed an affidavit of 218 pages. In the affidavit, the Centre defended its vaccination policy.

“In the context of a global pandemic, where response and strategy of the nation are completely driven by expert medical and scientific opinion, there is little room for judicial interference. Any overzealous, though well-meaning, judicial intervention may lead to unforeseen and unintended consequences,” said the center.

On different prices of vaccines, the center further added, “Pricing of vaccines is not only reasonable but uniform across the country after government persuasion with two vaccine companies.
