The sequel to Anil Sharma's hugely successful worldwide drama Gadar, which debuted in 2001, got a trailer on Wednesday. Anil was accompanied by actors Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel as well as the rest of the Gadar 2 ensemble during the Gadar 2 trailer premiere event, which was held on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas. A lot of people on Twitter, now known as X, criticized the actor after Sunny made a comment about India-Pakistan relations at the premiere of his upcoming film's trailer.

The actor and BJP member from Gurdaspur in Punjab attributed the animosity between India and Pakistan to a "political game." His 'diplomatic' remark caused much discontent on social media, with some alleging he said it to encourage Pakistanis to watch Gadar 2. Others suggested boycotting the movie as a result of Sunny's remarks. Gadar 2's trailer launch ceremony was held on Thursday, July 27.

The general population does not want us to quarrel with one another. After all, according to Sunny, the people of Pakistan and India are descended from the same soil. This statement has not been well received by some social media users. People claim that although they had planned to watch this movie, but Sunny's remark broke their hearts. Sunny Deol’s exact statement at the trailer launch was, “There is no talk of giving or taking anything. It is a matter of humanity. There should be no quarrels, there is equal love on both sides, this is a political game which creates all the hatred. You will see the same in the film. The public does not want us to quarrel with each other. After all, we all are from the same soil.

Some social media users appeared to be upset by Sunny's statement. A user wrote: “For the first time in my life, I wanted to watch a movie in the theatre. But this statement of Sunny Deol saved my 700-800 rupees from getting wasted. Thank you very much Sunny Deol.”

One user wrote – “With this dialogue the picture flopped. Sunny Paji, before making the second part, you should have seen the first part.”

Another one wrote, “Sunny Deol, get out of your house, go once and see the condition of Hindus in Pakistan who are forced to live in camps.”

Ameesha Patel, the actress in the movie, made a startling revelation during the ceremony to unveil the teaser. She explained, "In the beginning, Gadar was known as the ‘Gutter’. Nevertheless, I viewed it as a challenge. When Gadar 2 took place, the same thing occurred.”

“People questioned whether the actress who performs the song "Lazy Lamhe," would be able to portray a mother of a 20-year-old boy. I viewed this as a challenge as well, which I demonstrated by playing it.”

The public is responding incredibly well to the movie's trailer. After 22 years, Sunny Deol is returning as Tara Singh. In the approximately three-minute trailer, Sunny Deol's influence is more obvious everywhere. Ameesha Patel continues to present an innocent appearance. Instead of using a hand pump this time, Tara Singh will attack opponents with a hammer. In the trailer, four faces are featured more frequently. In addition to actor Utkarsh Sharma, who was adopted by Sunny and Ameesha, actor Manish Wadhwa, who rose to the rank of general in the Pakistani army, can also be seen as a very influential and powerful person. The movie will premiere in theatres on August 11, 2023.
