Bollywood actor turned politician, BJP MP Sunny Deol is once again embroiled in a new controversy that is making headlines in Punjab. Sunny has sent a letter of recommendation to the officials of the Pathankot automobile agency to get the Mahindra Thar car booked 'out of turn' for the daughter of Sujanpur MLA Dinesh Singh Thakur alias Babbu of Pathankot assembly constituency.
Thakur's daughter is reported to be getting married and Thar's waiting list is very long. Following this Deol decided to take the matter in his hand and wrote to the Grover autos making a recommendation for 'out of turn' delivery.
In his letter, Mr Deol mentioned that Surbhi Thakur, daughter of MLA Dinesh Thakur has booked a black Thar and made a cash advance of Rs. 21,000. He urged that keeping their needs in mind, Thar should be delivered on a priority basis.
Even though Sunny Deol's letter is dated February 2021, it is now going viral on social media and many people are commenting on it. Opposition party leaders are also showing their outrage by posting the letter and commenting on it.
Former BJP minister Master Mohan Lal poked fun at the situation, claiming that MLAs and MPs are elected because they serve the people. 'They are not chosen for personal work or recommendations. It would have been preferable if the MLA had requested funds for the development of his constituency from the MP.'
Netizens are trolling the Bollywood actor turned MP saying, “Dhai Kilo ka hath for writing letters asking for favours.”

Where one user slammed Deol saying, “MP Sunny Deol is working hard in his Lok Sabha constituency,” another user said, “Shame for being Elected Representative, misuse of Power. @JPNadda @AmitShah: For your info please, this is the example of what a first-timer BJP MP is setting in his constituency ??”
In the meantime, people also brought up the Farmer’s issue and said, “Wow!!! Farmers 1 saal se road pe hain .. mehngai itni badh gayi hai. Tab se ye so raha tha kya??”
