New Delhi: On Tuesday, BJP leader and Union Minister Babul Supriyo targetting Mamata Banerjee said that welcoming the Supreme Court order on top cop Rajeev Kumar was a case of day dreaming.
"Mamataji is delusional, claiming victory. When did CBI say that they went to arrest Rajeev Kumar", Mr Supriyo tweeted minutes after the Chief Minister said in Kolkata that the apex court order was a victory for her.
The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi ordered that the controversial police officer Rajeev Kumar will have to make himself available before the CBI.
Mr Supriyo, who represents Asansol parliamentary constituency in south Bengal also tweeted saying,"She (Ms Banerjee) was blocking the probe by instructing Rajeev to not cooperate in the CBI probe. Supreme Court has ordered him to present himself before CBI, something he did not do for three years".
On Sunday, a big tussle was triggered off in Kolkata after a CBI team landed at Rajeev Kumar's official residence to 'question' him but was detained by the Kolkata Police. Bengal Chief minister, Mamata Banerjee sat on a 'Dharna' registering her protest against ''central government's move to subvert the authorities of the state government''.
