Tandav Row: UP Police team leaves for Mumbai to investigate the FIR filed against makers and Amazon Prime Video

Trouble seems to be increasing minute by minute for web-series Tandav and Amazon Prime Video as a team of four Police officials from Uttar Pradesh has left for Mumbai. Going by the reports of ANI, a team of four police personnel has left for Mumbai for investigation following registration of an FIR at Hazratganj Police Station against the makers of web series 'Tandav' and an officer of OTT platform Amazon Prime for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

An FIR was filed against web-series 'Tandav' makers i.e. Ali Abbas Zafar and Gaurav Solanki, the director, and writer respectively. 

The FIR has been filed at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow on Sunday night by senior sub-inspector Amarnath Yadav. The complaint also named Amazon Prime's India head of original content Aparna Purohit, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, and another unnamed person.

The makers of the Tandav have been booked for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, makes destruction, damage, or defilement of a place of worship or an object held sacred; forgery for purpose of harming reputation, statements conducing to public mischief, with intent to threaten the unity, integrity, security or sovereignty of India, or to strike terror in the people or any section of the people.
