TikTok to launch music app, challenges Spotify and Apple Music

TikTok (The ByteDanceLtd.) has secured rights from T-Series and Times Music the two India’s largest music record labels

TikTok is soon going to launch the paid music service in market for the music lovers. The development of this music service is going to challenge the leaders of Spotify and Apple music in the emerging market.  This Chinese app is planning to introduce the new app in mostly poorer countries. 

The new app will not be named after TikTok and will try to convert their customers of the famous TikTok app into paying customers. 

As per the record this Chinese app has been downloaded more than 500 million times and became one of the most influential apps in the music industry.

The song “Old Town Road” is the Billboard No.1 song from past one month has first become well known on TikTok. The music app of the world most valuable start up will be nothing like Spotify or Apple, the app includes the itemized record of songs available on demand. 

The ByteDance is looking forward to reduce the dependency on advertising and wants to ensure that subscription music can work in emerging markets. The company is yet to secure record rights from world three largest music groups like Universal, Warner and Sony.
