Time magazine takes a ‘U-turn’ says ‘Modi has united India’

New York: US magazine ‘Time’ contradicted its own cover which termed Narendra Modi as the “Divider in Chief” prior the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, has taken a u-turn and a report with a headline, "Modi Has United India Like No Prime Minister in Decades".

The article with that headline published on its website on Tuesday, asked "How has this supposedly divisive figure not only managed to keep power, but increase his levels of support?" and answered: "A key factor is that Modi has managed to transcend India's greatest fault line: the class divide".

The writer, Manoj Ladwa, credited Modi's rise as a unifier to his origins in a backward caste - a factor missed or deliberately omitted by Western media obsessed with what they call upper caste domination.

The article which termed Modi as ‘Divider in Chief’ was written by Aatish Taseer, son of Indian journalist Tavleen Singh and late Pakistani politician and businessman Salmaan Taseer. The article also says the Indian National Congress (INC has little to offer other than the dynastic principle.
