Punjab’s damage has been in news ever since the excessive rains have started. In Punjab's Hoshiarpur, a person who had come to check the water level was washed away. The victim has been identified as Mahinderpal Singh, an Alampur resident. CM Bhagwant Mann has made the decision to go to the dam amid rumors that the Bhakra dam will release water. Bhakra Dam will be visited by CM Bhagwant Mann after midday.

The Ghaggar river is also wreaking devastation at the same time. On Saturday night at midnight, the river's flood caused mayhem in the Patiala villages. The crops and fields were under water. Patiala's Bhagpur and the adjacent villages are under water. The district administration had forewarned the people, so the situation remained under control.

Along with this, the boat driver made a careless attempt to transport people from the opposite bank of the river in a boat towards Balachaur on Sunday morning as the Sutlej's water level climbed in the Nawanshahar village of Auliyapur. Due to the strong current, the boat shook. The boatman had a difficult time getting the boat to the shore, but the people there managed to save both the boat and the passengers inside by tossing a rope.

Also, the Dhussi dam, constructed on the Sutlej in the village of Hariwal in Anandpur Sahib, malfunctioned. Following that, the village's crops were submerged under water. The water started rising in Dadwa village at night, based on the information that was provided. Later, Ghaggar captures Bhagpur as well. During the night itself, SDM Parleen Kaur Brar took control of the situation. She arrived in the village with the Tehsildar and other staff members, who kept an eye on things. The unique aspect is that the district administration and those employed by MNREGA were both involved in situational control.

The weather is predicted to be clear today after rain fell across more than half of the state yesterday. The Meteorological Department has not issued any rain warnings for Punjab or Haryana today, thus it is anticipated that the rivers' water levels, which had previously surged, will somewhat decline.
