Two-day PTM in govt schools: Parents who shifted their wards from private to govt schools express satisfaction, lauds edu dept efforts

Education Secretary interacts virtually with them to know their feedback regarding quality education in government-run schools

The parents and students especially those who have shifted from private schools were visibly enthusiastic and elated when they got an opportunity to have virtual interaction with the Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, during the two day "Parents Teachers Meeting", held in government schools across the state on March 08 and 09.

Most of the parents and students expressed satisfaction over the infrastructural and quality education facilities as well as the dedication of the school teachers.

"We are really grateful to the education department especially the school heads and teachers for the on line education facilities via TV / radio, youtube, google classrooms and various digital applications during the closure of schools due to pandemic COVID-19", said the parents and students while adding that the affectionate care, taking of extra classes, wake up calls by the teachers to prepare them for better performance in Board examinations, could not be explained in words.

It is worthwhile to mention here that with a view to have the first hand feedback from the students, parents and teachers about the preparation for accomplishing "Mission Shat Pratishat" , the Education secretary, Krishan Kumar, virtually participated in the Parents Teachers Meeting.

He virtually participated in the PTMs underway at different government schools situated at Mahalon, Mehli (Nawanshahr), Kot Ishe khan and Talwandi Mallian (Moga), Gharuan (Mohali), Fategarh Churian (Gurdaspur), Mahil Khurd and Dhoorkot (Barnala), Sakira (Pathankot), Malsian (Jalandhar), Talwara (Hoshiarpur), Nangal Kalan (Mansa) and Dudwindi (Kapurthala) on Tuesday, the concluding day.

Earlier, he virtually participated in the PTM, underway, at Government Senior Secondary School, Model town, Patiala, GSSS, Ullana (Patiala, GSSS, Bhaini Barhinga,(Ludhiana), GSSS, Ayali Khurd (Ludhiana), GSSS, Shahpur (Ludhiana), GSSS, Katra Karam Singh (Amritsar), GSSS, Nag Kalan (Amritsar), GSSS, Kullan (Tarntaran), GSSS, Chachoki (Kapurthala), GSSS, Singh Bhagwantpur (Roopnagar).

The students including, Amanpreet Kaur, Mehakpreet Kaur, Anju Sharma, Gurnur Kaur, Harpal Kaur, Simranjit Kaur, Komalpreet Kaur, Rajvir Kaur, Loveneesh Kaur , Pharman Singh were visibly elated while interacting with the Education Secretary.

They confidently answered the queries related to their preparation about the ensuing Board examinations posed by the Education Secretary. He also interacted with the parents, SMC, members, sarpanches, school heads and teachers and took the feedback about the progress of improvement in infrastructural facilities and various activities and projects launched by the Education Department for bringing in qualitative improvement in school education.

He also exhorted them to spread awareness about the changing scenario of government schools among masses so that the people can avail the benefits of improved infrastructural ,  quality education facilities as well as various welfare schemes being provided by the government.

School heads, teachers and students promised to work hard for translating the “Mission Shat Pratishat" into reality. Assistant Director (Trainings), SCERT, State Resource Persons- Chander Shekhar, Jasvir Singh Sekhon were also present during virtual interaction.
