UCPMA delegation submits demands to MP Manish Tewari

MSME units have come down to 90,000, while credit has increased to around Rs 37 lakh.

A delegation of  United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association called on MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib Manish Tewari at his residence and handed over a memorandum regarding the demands of the industries. Chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Pawan Dewan were also present on the occasion.



The memorandum outlines the challenges being faced by the MSME sector. According to the delegation, a recent survey has revealed that as on March 31, 2019, there were around one lakh MSME industries in Ludhiana and these industries had a credit of Rs. 24.50 lakh. As a result, MSME units have come down to 90,000, while credit has increased to around Rs 37 lakh.


In this regard, they emphasized the need to sensitize the MSME industry to seek clearance from PSPCL and urged PSPCL to extend the PIL till March 31, 2022 by waiving the amount of this penalty. Similarly two part tariff should be replaced with single tariff and inclusive of all expenses and taxes should be Rs. 5 per unit. They also demanded formation of steel regulatory authority to control speculation in steel prices.



MP Tewari listened attentively to the issues raised by the industry representatives and assured to take up with state and central government.



The delegation also included Senior Vice President Gurcharan Singh Gemco, General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sachdeva, Secretary Valaiti Ram, R & D member Avtar Singh Bhogal, Inderjit Singh Navyug former President and Ravinder Verma (Ravi Verma).
