Union HRD Ministry on Monday announced that final-year examinations in universities will have to be conducted by September-end, deferring the schedule from July in view of the COVID-19 situation. This has enraged students and many questions are arriving in the minds of students.

One such question is how will be they passed or how will they get a degree with backlogs in their kitty. By issuing revised guidelines, UGC have answered every question, including those for the backlog students.

As per the guidelines issued by UGC, The students of terminal semester/ final year students having backlog should compulsorily be evaluated by conducting examinations in offline (pen & paper)/ online/blended (online + offline) mode as per feasibility and suitability.  Meaning the final-year students with backlog will be compulsorily evaluated through an exam.
