Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar has launched the PM-DAKSH portal and PM-DAKSH mobile app to promote skill development. The mobile application is developed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in collaboration with National E-Governance Division (NeGD). The main objective behind the launch of the PM-DAKSH portal and application is to make skill development schemes accessible to the target groups.

The official release by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment read, “Through this portal and app, the youth of the target group will now be able to avail the benefits of skill development training programs more easily.”
The Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi (PM-DAKSH) Yojana (Scheme) was launched by the Ministry in the year 2020-2021. Under this scheme, the targeted group is provided skill development training programs on upskilling/ Re-skilling, short-term and long-term training programs as well as Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP). These training programs are available in government training institutes, sector skill councils and other credible institutions constituted by the Ministry of Development and Entrepreneurship.
Now, the ministry of social justice and empowerment has made it easy for the targeted group as one can get all the information related to the skill development programs and training through the PM-DAKSH portal or mobile application.

PM-DAKSH Portal is available at the official website of the ministry and the PM-DAKSH mobile app can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
Dr Virendra Kumar said, “Today, I am feeling proud to launch this portal and mobile app for public use. Keeping in view the usefulness and practicality of any suggestions received related to the implementation of this portal can become more useful and beneficial for the target groups enabling them to be skilled and become self-reliant by availing opportunities related to self-employment or wage employment.”
