A video of President of the United States, Joe Biden, is going viral on the internet in which he seemingly freezes on stage at a fundraising event and is gently led off-stage by Barack Obama.
The awkward moment was caught on cameras, following a 45-minute interview with Hollywood talk show host Jimmy Kimmel at a Democrat fundraising event in Los Angeles. The video which is now going viral showed the POTUS freezing on the stage while looking at the crowd. Biden stood at the stage staring at the crowd for around 10 seconds before being gently escorted off the stage by Barack Obama.
Netizens were quick to voice their opinions on the internet, asking whether Biden was fit for a second term at the office. Several videos of Biden looking lost or ‘freezing’ have been surfacing and going viral on the internet. Recently, Joe Biden was caught on camera absent-mindedly walking away from the world leaders at the G7 summit in Italy which also went viral.
Joe Biden is 81 years old and was appointed the 46th US president in 2021 taking the office from rival presidential candidate Donald Trump. Biden is 81 years old and will reportedly be running for re-election in the upcoming US presidential elections, as will Donald Trump. Biden was also previously vice president during Obama's tenure as the POTUS.
The White House however jumped to the POTUS’s defences saying that he was just taking in the applause from the audience. Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates took to X to set the record saying, “By pretending the President taking in an applauding crowd for a few seconds is somehow wrong, all they’re really admitting — once again — is they can’t take on the leadership that’s fueling the strongest economic growth in the world & bringing violent crime to a 50-year low” talking about the US media outlets.
The event was a fund-raising event at the Peacock theatre as part of Biden’s election campaign. The night sparkled with the presence of Hollywood A-listers like George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Barbra Streisand. During their chat with Kimmel, Biden and Obama underscored the mission to keep Donald Trump out of the office.
