The Punjab government has made various claims of intensifying the campaign of war against drugs. Despite that however, videos of the state’s youth roaming around in a drunken state are going viral on social media. Recently, a video of a girl roaming around in a drunken state in Amritsar went viral on social media. Now, a girl was found unconscious and almost unresponsive on the road near the fields in village Gudapad (Aur) near Nawahshahr. The video of the girl is now doing rounds on social media.
The girl was found lying in a fugue state with the possibility of the girl being under the influence of drugs. As soon as the Anti-Drug Committee received information about the girl, the team members reached the spot and admitted the girl to the hospital for treatment. An ambulance was immediately called after which she was admitted to the hospital, which saved the girl’s life.
Anti Drug Committee Chairman Kamaljit Sajan said that he has caught the girl injecting herself with drugs several times before. He then said that three-four people working in the fields came to his shop and informed him about the girl. He then immediately alerted the police and reached the spot with his team members to pick up the girl from the road and take her to the hospital.
It is being told that the girl is addicted to drugs and she was last seen injecting herself with a narcotic. Kamaljit Sajan said that he met SSP Nawanshahr and discussed the menace of drug addiction in the state. The SSP assured that the drug smuggling chain will be destroyed. Kamaljit also expressed confidence the SSP’s words and said that he believes full due diligence will be done.
