A Nihang was seen terrorising students and staff in the campus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Amritsar, Punjab. He reportedly entered the campus after beating up the security guard and then threatened the students and the management while brandishing a sword. The frightened students recorded the incident uploaded the video on social media, while demanding security from the institute administration, Amritsar administration and the police.
The incident reportedly took place at the Khandwala campus of IIM Amritsar, located near Guru Nanak Dev University. This video is from a few days ago at around 6.30 pm, when the students are shifted from the institute campus to the hostel. During this time, a Sikh Nihang entered wearing a baana and carrying a sword in his hand.
Students of the IIM campus say that as soon as the Nihang arrived, he first beat up the security guard standing at the gate and then entered the campus threatening them with a sword. He threatened to kill everyone in the campus. He then boarded a bus, where he threatened the students, staff and the bus driver.
The students said that they and the staff cannot smoke cigarettes inside the campus. Therefore, the students go outside the campus to smoke cigarettes which the Nihang was protesting. The Nihang entered the bus and threatened to cut the hands of those who smoke cigarettes while standing outside. He told the bus driver to explain to everyone that if anyone smokes cigarettes while standing outside, his hands will be cut off.
