A major incident at Shree Narayan School in Vadodara, Gujarat, on Friday resulted in the injuries of four children. At 2:30 PM, the school's second-floor wall gave way, causing the children to fall approximately ten feet. At the dramatic moment when the kids fell, as seen on camera, one student sustained a head injury and three others received minor injuries.
Authorities called the police and fire departments to the scene right away. As per the police investigation, the children initially fell against another wall before hitting the ground, which may have resulted in less damage being sustained. Investigating the exact cause of the wall collapse is still ongoing, despite preliminary reports suggesting that the building's age may have been a factor. According to the school administration, the building was certified as stable just one month ago, and all necessary paperwork is in order.
In response to the incident, the Parents Association plans to protest against the school administration, and a formal complaint may be lodged.The local community has expressed concerns about the school's infrastructure and safety. The district administration has not yet released an official statement, despite the education department, the families of the injured students, and the school administration having made official statements.
Apart from the school being closed the day after the collapse, there was also an announcement that Monday's classes would be suspended. The principle states that the school is investigating various online learning platforms to guarantee that students's education is not disrupted. At their meeting, the Board of Trustees will deliberate on the impact of the incidents on student safety and the ongoing educational process.
