A bus carrying 14 passengers narrowly escaped a mountain landslide in Uttarakhand. Rocks suddenly started falling off the mountain with uprooted trees. The video tweeted by news agency ANI shows that the bus driver stopped the bus at a right time and lives were saved.

The video shows the passengers along with their stuff getting off the bus and running away. The driver also reverses the bus to take it to a safe and distant location.
The debris continued to fall and the road was blocked because of the massive landslide, the video showed.

The incident took place at Uttarakhand’s Nanital, for now, no causalities have been reported. The reason behind the landslide is heavy rainfall on August 20.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert (heavy rainfall) in northern India and because of this Disaster Management Team is on high alert. It has also issued an alert of thunderstorms and lighting.
On Thursday, Uttarakhand received 29.5mm rainfall, with a departure of 127% from the normal.
Kedarnath and Badrinath highways have been closed due to heavy rain in the state. The water level of the Alaknanda-Mandakini River has risen, which is a threat to the nearby surroundings. The idol of Lord Shiva is submerged due to the rise in the water level of the Alaknanda.
