Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has once again become active in politics amid the Punjab Congress tussle. The cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Sidhu is at loggerheads with Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh over the state-related issues or unfulfilled promises ahead of state Assembly Elections 2022.

Although, the Congress High Command has constituted a three-member panel to resolve the longstanding feud in the state unit, no reconciliation point has been reached despite holding several meetings with the party leaders.

In order to reach a breakthrough, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has shown her involvement in the matter and on June 30 she held more than 6 meetings.

The first meeting reportedly was held between Priyanka and Sidhu which lasted for more than 3 hours in which various Punjab Congress issues were discussed in it to end resolve the infighting.

A few hours later, Priyanka visited her brother Rahul Gandhi’s residence to deliberate on the state unit’s position.

It may be noted here that Sidhu, who has the back of Gandhi brother-sister, has also met Rahul at his residence today in New Delhi. In the meeting, Sidhu has most likely pressed for his demands ahead of the state Assembly Elections 2022 and has aired a long list of grievances against Capt Amarinder Singh.

Although, the High Command has announced that the upcoming elections in the state will be contested under the leadership of Capt Amarinder, Sidhu remains disgruntled.

To pacify the infighting, Priyanka held two rounds of discussion with Sidhu-one before and the other after meeting Rahul Gandhi.

In order to induct him back to the party at an elite designation, Priyanka after meeting Sidhu went to 10 Janpath for a meet with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. From here, she again went to Rahul Gandhi and for the final round, they both visited Sonia Gandhi together.

These frequent meetings have however stirred speculations that a decision in Punjab Congress tussle can be declared anytime soon.

Notably, two years ago, Priyanka had managed to bring peace during a similar revolt camp in Rajasthan, when Sachin Pilot voiced out against his leader, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
