Update on IAS Ankurjeet Singh's Transfer:

In the latest update, the Punjab Government has transferred IAS Ankurjeet Singh from Jalandhar Additional Commissioner of MC to the Department of Housing & Urban Development as Chief Administrator in Jalandhar Development Authority. Notably, on Tuesday, IAS Ankurjeet was transferred as Additional Commissioner in Jalandhar Municipal Commissioner. He was about to take charge on Wednesday.

Who is IAS Officer Ankurjeet Singh?

Originally hailing from Yamunanagar, Haryana, Ankurjeet Singh has been appointed as Jalandhar's Additional Commissioner in the latest reshuffle announced by the Bhagwant Mann government. As per reports, Ankurjeet Singh belongs to a middle-class family in Haryana, and he cannot see. When Ankurjeet Singh IAS officer was in school, he started losing his eyesight gradually. Eventually, it led to the loss of vision in Ankurjeet Singh. However, he did not give up and fought the situation. 

As per the information available, Ankurjeet Singh studied till 10th standard in a government school in the village. His mother played an important role in teaching him. She used to teach Ankur by reading all the books to him. After the 12th, Ankurjeet Singh filled out the IIT form and got admission to IIT Roorkee. Ankur did B.Tech from there. Many of Ankurjit's friends at IIT were preparing for UPSC, so he also started preparing. Ankur secured 414th rank in the UPSC exam in the year 2017.
