Sadar Police Station, Jaipur on Sunday arrested a woman named Bhavna Sharma. She was arrested by Rajasthan Police for filing 14 false r*pe cases since the year 2016. Bhavna Sharma has been filing r*pe cases against males earning good in order to extort money for them. The accused has been on a run since 2016 and finally with the help of police authorities and bar council, she has got arrested after 7 years. A police complaint was filed against her on 8th May by an advocate accusing her of filing false molestation case against him and also blackmailing him to get money. She lodged nearly 14 FIRs in different cities like Jaipur, Gurugram, Madhya Pradesh, etc.
The complainant while lodging an FIR against her stated that he met Bhavna Sharma on the pretext of law practice in January. She started chatting with him and one day demanded Rs. 7,000 from him. He thought that she was in need and sent her the amount. He further added that when he got to know that she had lodged r*pe cases against different people, he started maintaining a safe distance from her. The advocate said that later, Bhavna Sharma started blackmailing him and demanding Rs. 5,000 every month and she also lodged a complaint against him. In order to protect himself and prove himself innocent he went to the police seeking help.
Who is Bhavna Sharma?
She is a girl between the age group of 25-30 who allegedly resides in Jaipur. Her modus operandi is, Bhavna Sharma keeps a check on people who earn really well and from whom good amount of money and extorted. Later, she befriends that person either on a professional or personal front. After this, Bhavna Sharma starts seeking money from them as an aid. When the people understand her game, she tends to blackmail them saying that she’ll file a false r*pe case against them. Either the victim keeps on giving her money or file a complaint against him. As soon as FIR is lodged against her, she moves to a different place.
False R*pe Cases Filed By Bhavna Sharma
In September 2016 she filed 2 cases against a single person accusing him of molestation and he later got acquitted.
Then in October 2018, she filed her third case in Jyoti Nagar police station.
In May 2019, fourth case was filed by Bhavna Sharma against 4-5 men for trying to r*pe her.
5th case was filed by her in May 2020 in which even she also got convicted.
6th and 7th case was filed by her in January 2021 and February 2021, the case is still under investigation
In June 2022 8th case was filed by her in Chitrakoot Police Station
The 9th case was filed by her in June 2022 and investigation is underway.
10th and 11th case was filed exactly between one year i.e. in June 2022 and June 2023.
12th case was also filed by her in June 2023 which was regarded as baseless by the court
13th and 14th case filed by her accusing two men of molesting her.
