The NEET exam 2024 paper leak scandal has been linked directly to Nalanda, Bihar, the home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This connection involves Ranjit Don, who is known for organizing exam paper leaks.

Ranjit Don is scandalous for his involvement in buying exam centers and facilitating the unlawful success of many candidates. His actions have led to unqualified individuals securing positions as doctors, engineers, and bank POs.

Who is Ranjit Don?

Ranjit Don, also known as Suman Singh, was arrested by the CBI for leaking CBSE medical exam papers in April 2003. His involvement in the CAT exam paper leak revealed a larger paper leak syndicate. He was expelled from Darbhanga Medical College in 1994 for submitting fake certificates, marking the beginning of his illicit activities.

The CBI investigation uncovered a national-level paper leak syndicate, leading to a case being filed against 18 individuals, including Ranjit Don, under IPC section 409 and the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Ranjit Don's extravagant spending included gifting his mother a vanity van and owning expensive everyday items, reportedly worth thousands. To launder his earnings, he registered several pharmaceutical companies in Himachal Pradesh, showing heavy losses to legitimize the black money from his paper leak operations.

The case against Ranjit Don and others remains pending in court, with all accused currently out on bail. The NEET 2024 scandal has once again brought attention to Nalanda, now associated with another key figure, Sanjeev Mukhiya. This recurrence underscores the persistent issue of exam paper leaks in the region.
