Roshni Nadar Malhotra, daughter of Shiv Nadar, has been ranked as the third richest Indian with the net worth of around Rs 3.13 lakh crore, according to the ‘Bloomberg Billionaires Index.’ Roshni follows Mukesh Ambani, with total net worth Rs 7.7 lakh crore and Gautam Adani, with total net worth Rs. 6 lakh crore, in the list of the richest Indians. She attained the position after her father Shiv Nadar - owner of HCL Technology, transferred around 47 percent of the company's stake to Roshni. 

Before Roshni, the third rank was claimed by her father Shiv Nadar, with a market cap value of Rs 4.20 lakh crore, notably his company is India’s third largest IT company of the country. 

Now, after the stakes of HCL have been shifted to Roshni, she has also become India’s richest woman, surpassing Savitri Jindal, whose net worth is around Rs 2.63 lakh crore. After this reshuffling, Savitri Jindal is the fifth richest person of the country. 

Who is Roshni Nadar?

Roshni Nadar holds an MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management and she completed her graduation in Communication from Northwestern University in Britain. According to reports, she started her career as a producer in Sky News, Britain. 

Recently, Roshni works as a member of the Board of Directors of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum and she is also a member of the Global Board of Directors of The Nature Conservancy. Along with this, she also holds the position of director on the board of HDFC Asset Management Company. 

She is well-known for her contribution towards the business and society due to which she has been included in the Fortune India’s list of most powerful women several times. Notably, she is also the trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation. 

In the year 2009, Roshni Nadar Malhotra joined HCL Corporation, a sister company of HCL Technologies and HCL Infosystems, and in 2020 she became the chairperson of HCL Tech. Under her leadership, the firm acquired seven IBM products, costing Rs 13,740 crore - this is historically the largest acquisition by HCL.

Shiv Nadar is the world's 52nd richest person. He is founder and chairman of HCL Technologies Limited and Shiv Nadar Foundation.79-year-old Nadar’s net worth is around USD 34.4 billion, which is around Rs 2.99 lakh crore, according to the Forbes Real Time Billionaires List. 

Shiv Nadar founded HCL in the year 1976 and currently, its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director is C Vijaykumar. The company provides employment to around 2,27,481 people. The company covers fields like digital, engineering, cloud and software.
