The murder case of Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata is turning out to be a great headache for both India and Bangladesh. Anwarul Azim Anar, the MP from Bangladesh's ruling party, went missing days after he arrived in India (Kolkata). He was grisly murdered in Kolkata. As per reports, Anwarul Azim Anar was first strangulated to death and then he was skinned and his body was chopped into parts before being stuffed in a suitcase.
The murder case of Anwarul Azim Anar is alike a fictional crime thriller that generally showcases that someone first gets honey-trapped and then gets murdered. Something similar happened in Anwarul Azim Anar's murder case. A Bangladeshi illegal immigrant has been arrested in India who is a butcher and he has reportedly confessed to chopping Anwarul Azim Anar's body parts. On the other hand, Dhaka Police has also made some developments in the case and has arrested a model from Dhaka named Shilasti Rahman. The Dhaka Police has alleged that Shilasti Rahman honey-trapped the Bangladesh MP so that he could be murdered. Who is Shilasti Rahman?
Shilasti Rahman is 22-years-old and she hails from Dhaka. The Dhaka Police has alleged that Shilasti Rahman honey trapped & lured the Bangladesh MP to flat number 56 of BU Block, Sanjeeva Gardens, Newtown, Kolkata, where he was brutally murdered. Anwarul Azim Anar was strangled to death, and his body was dismembered and disposed of in a trolley bag at an undisclosed location. Both Bangladesh and Kolkata Police have been investigating the death of Anwarul Azim Anar.
A Bangladeshi news portal Somoy has claimed that Shilasti Rahman has been identified as Shahin's girlfriend. She is suspected of playing a pivotal role in the murder. Authorities believe that Akhtaruzzaman Shahin orchestrated the murder due to a business conflict with MP Anar.
Currently, Shilasti Rahman is on an 8-day of remand by the Dhaka Police.
Notably, Shilasti Rahman was quoted by a Bangladeshi media portal as well. As per the report, during the bail hearing, a lawyer went to Shilasti Rahman to get his signature on the bail petition. At that moment, Selasta broke down and asked, "Should I sign any bail petition? How did I become an accused? I was just at that house. Apart from that, I know nothing."
Bangladeshi local media report suggests that Shilasti returned to Dhaka by plane on May 15, accompanied by the primary killer, Amanullah. A source was quoted saying by the portal saying that two men and a woman were seen entering the flat on May 13, but only a man and a woman exited a day later. The woman is believed to be Shilasti Rahman.
How Bangladesh MP Anar was murdered?
As per reports, MP Azim has been missing since May 13. Members of Anwarul Azim's family informed that he went to India for treatment on May 12. On May 13, he informed via WhatsApp that he was going to Delhi. After that, there was no further communication. Kolkata police informed on Wednesday that Bangladesh MP Azim had been murdered.
In a major breakthrough, the West Bengal CID sleuths arrested the butcher involved in the killing. a Bangladeshi citizen, from Bangoan in North 24 Parganas district. The butcher was staying at the New Town flat for two and a half months before Anar's killing. "He planned to run away either to Mumbai or to Bangladesh which he could not but his accomplices did," said police as quoted by a portal.
As per reports, the Bangladeshi butcher was illegally brought to India by the mastermind.
A West Bengal Police official investigating the case was quoted by a newswire saying, "It's unthinkable, the way Anar's body was mutilated and then skinned to hide his identity. The flesh and the bones were segregated and then chopped into smaller pieces before they were washed to remove blood before being mixed with turmeric powder and packed in smaller black plastic bags."
As per reports, Jihad Hawladar who has been arrested by the Kolkata Police has revealed that he and his accomplices skinned the body and removed the flesh, mincing it to remove any possibility of identification. The remains - the bones were cut into small pieces - were packed into plastic bags, transported,and dumped across Kolkata.
Interestingly, Bangladesh MP Azim's murder's reality resembles to an American web series known titled Dexter. Dexter is a serial killer who chops bodies into pieces and throws them into the water so that the Police cannot identify them or catch him.
