When T20 cricket was originally introduced, India and Pakistan were placed in the same group. There was a close contest between the two countries. Team India scored 141 runs in their first innings. India had an easy time in this match also. Pakistan batted first and only managed to score 130 runs in their 20 overs. Amit Mishra bowled excellently in the match, taking two wickets for 22 runs. 5. March 19, 2016 – Kolkata

Kolkata hosted the fifth World Cup match between India and Pakistan. Pakistan batted first once more but again failed to put up a substantial total. In 20 overs, Pakistan only managed to score 118 runs. However, Mohammed Amir's superb spell against Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be remembered from this match. Despite scoring less than 120 runs, Pakistan looked dangerous with the balling, as the returning Mohammed Amir caused problems for India's top order. India, on the other hand, was able to win the match despite the low score.
