The incredibly amazing Live Text feature that can pull out the text from your images, improved search results in Spotlight, an improved Weather app, FaceTime upgrades like Spatial Audio and SharePlay, and the new Focus mode and more notification control are just a few of the highlights for iOS 15. The iPadOS 15 brings larger widgets that can be placed between apps on the Home Screen, a new App Library that was previously only accessible on the iPhone, a new Focus mode, Live Text, and multitasking changes if you're using it for business.
The firm gave us an early peek at the future of the software side of things—iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, tvOS, App Store, services, apps, and more—at WWDC 2021, as it does every year, and is focused more on developers and the software roadmap than consumers.
Developers can build apps on iPad
Apple will allow you to add widgets to the home screen and access the app library with iPadOS 15, which was first introduced on the iPhone with iOS 14 last year. Apple is also improving multitasking with new controls that make it easier to manage your programs, and Swift Playgrounds will allow you to create apps.
Your iPhone Your Identity
Apple's Wallet will soon allow you to store your ID digitally (in participating US states) and use it as identification in US airports.
Text on Photos now will be interactive
Apple's new Live Text can digitize text in your images, allowing you to copy and paste text from a photo or dial a phone number from a photo, for example. Apple claims that the functionality is powered by "on-device intelligence."
