The arrest of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra has become a massive topic of discussion on social media. On Saturday, YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra aka Jyoti Rani, was arrested by the Civil Lines Police in Hisar on charges of spying for Pakistan. Jyoti Malhotra, who runs a YouTube channel named 'Travel with JO', has a whopping 377K subscribers. Two months back, Jyoti uploaded as many as 7 videos where she showcased Pakistan in a positive light. However, little did her fans know that Jyoti was actually assigned this task by the Pakistani Secret Service, ISI. Below is what ISI asked Jypti Malhotra to carry out- 

What did ISI ask Jyoti Malhotra to do?

As per the FIR, Jyoti admitted that she provided confidential data and was in a relationship with a Pakistani operative. She also allegedly received funds, followed instructions to attend events like Defence Expo 2025, and visited sensitive Indian sites. Based on the complaint and evidence, Jyoti has been booked under the following charges: Section 152 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923. 

During her stay in Pakistan, she was influenced and used by Pakistani agents to: Gather and share sensitive information about India and Project a positive image of Pakistan on social media.

Jyoti and her multiple visits to Pakistan

As per the report, authorities have revealed that Jyoti Malhotra visited Pakistan in 2023 after acquiring a visa through commission agents. During her trip to Pakistan, she developed close ties with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a staffer at the Pakistan High Commission (PHC) in New Delhi.

Notably, Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish was the one who was declared persona non grata by the Indian government and was expelled on May 13, 2025. It was Danish who allegedly introduced Jyoti to multiple Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs).

On encrypted platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat, Jyoti remained in touch with operatives, including Shakir alias Rana Shahbaz, whose number she saved as “Jatt Randhawa.”

Initial investigation has revealed that she also entered into an intimate relationship with a PIO and even travelled to Bali, Indonesia with him. During Danish’s stay in Delhi, she continued coordinating with him.
