There are 15 days left for the deadline of Smart City to end and two big projects have not been started yet. The reason for this is that the Burlton Park Sports Hub and the Bio-mining Project need approval from the BOD meeting, but due to the Lok Sabha elections, the BOD meeting could not be held. Due to this, the project has not yet received the green signal.

Work orders to the relevant company can also be issued after the green signal from the Board of Directors, therefore this project has been stuck. The government is also not showing any interest in the work of Smart City. In such a situation, the officials are waiting for the guidelines of Smart City-2. Only after this, emphasis will be laid on increasing the progress of the project.

Smart City projects worth Rs 930 crores were approved in the city for LED lights, KP Stadium, Surface Water Project, Kala Sandhian Drain, Command and Control Project (ICCC), Smart Road etc., but none of the Smart City projects could be completed as per the terms of the agreement. In fact, all the projects are running far behind the deadlines, and the progress of work is very slow.

The deadline of the surface water project ended in September 2023, however, only 60 percent of the work has been completed. At the same time, Smart Road, Kala Sanghian drain, ICCC, KP Stadium, CNDS Plant Project worth Rs 50 crore have also not been completed according to the terms of the agreement.

However, the work of Smart City's Burlton Park Sports Hub and the Bio-mining project could not start. Both these projects have to get approval from the BOD meeting. After this, work orders will be issued to the company. However, Smart City has not received new budget for the projects either. In this regard, SE Rajneesh Dogra said that the deadline for Smart City is June 30. Therefore, now the new guidelines of Smart City project are awaited.

These projects including KP stadium have been completed

The work of Command and Control project is almost complete. The work of installing CCTV cameras has been completed. Now the work of issuing challans to  vehicles will start soon through Command and Control project. For this, the work of feeding data in Command and Control project will be completed soon. The construction work of KP stadium has been completed and the project will soon be handed over to the Municipal Corporation.. The CNDS plant has been started which entails the work of making gravel from debris.
