In a tragic turn of events, a motorcycle accident near Jalandhar on Wednesday turned a wedding celebration into a mourning occasion. Karman and Jatinder Singh were on their way to buy vegetables for Karman's sister's wedding when their motorcycle collided with a tipper truck. The accident resulted in the death of both men.
According to CCTV footage, Karman was riding the motorcycle. In a bid to overtake, the bike hit a pedestrian near a garbage dump and thereafter they both fell onto the road. A tipper truck driving behind them ran over both Karman and Jatinder Singh.
The accident occurred on the day of Karman's sister's wedding, casting a shadow of grief over the joyous occasion. Jatinder Singh's brother-in-law, who was accompanying them but driving ahead in a separate vehicle, lost sight of them on the way. He was informed about the fatal accident upon returning home.
Responding promptly to the accident, members of the Road Safety Force reached the scene and secured the area. The severity of the accident was evident as parts of the motorcycles and the victims were scattered across the road. The Road Safety Force meticulously investigated the cause of the collision.
Police also arrived at the scene and collected the remains. ASI Raghuveer Singh from the Punjab Police said they received information about the accident around 6:00 AM. Initial investigations revealed a motorcycle and a parked tipper truck at the accident site. The truck driver was found about a kilometer away. ASI Singh confirmed that a case has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing.
