Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia on Friday approached the Supreme Court of India against the multiple FIRs filed against him over the obscene remarks that he made during India's Got Latent episode. Ranveer Allahbadia had approached the Supreme Court to club all the FIRs. Ranveer Allahbadia, through his lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud, filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the consolidation of FIRs filed against him across different states. Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud mentioned the matter before Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna seeking urgent listing. However, the CJI turned down the request, saying that oral mentioning of cases is not permitted.

Who is Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud?

Abhinav Chandrachud is the elder son of the 50th Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. Abhinav Chandrachud is in the legal profession like his father and grandfather. Abhinav Chandrachud practices in the Bombay High Court. He often remains in the headlines for his books and articles. Abhinav Chandrachud, like his father, has also done LL.M. from Harvard Law School.

As per Jansatta, Abhinav Chandrachud has done his LL.B. from Government Law College, Mumbai. He received the Justice D.P. Modern Prize in Constitutional Law (Mumbai University) in the year 2006. In 2007-2008, Abhinav received the Yashwant Dalal and Ranganath Rao Prize for being the best student. He has been a rank holder at Mumbai University. Between the years 2003 and 2008, Abhinav Chandrachud has always secured first position in studies.

As per Mumbai Mirror, Abhinav Chandrachud previously expressed that he wanted to become a professor and he had also received an offer to join the London School of Economics as a Fellow but he decided to return to India. He stated that he used the knowledge acquired during his PhD in Legal History from Stanford University Law School in both practice and writing. Abhinav wrote his first book at the age of 26. So far he has written eight books.
