Farmers put under house arrest ahead of PM Modi’s rally in Jalandhar, watch video

On the occasion of PM Modi’s rally in Jalandhar, traffic will not be allowed to move through the PAP Chowk from 2 PM on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab began yesterday. PM Modi will be addressing a rally in Jalandhar in PAP Ground today. Before PM Modi’s visit, farmers announced to stage a protest and raise their issues in front of the Prime Minister. Although they announced a peaceful protest, due to security reasons farmers have been put under house arrest in Jalandhar.

PM Modi will come to Jalandhar at around 4:30 pm today. Before this, police have put all prominent farmers as well as heads of the farmers union under house arrest. Apart from this, Kulwinder Singh Machyana, the district president of Kisan Union Ekta Sidhupur has been detained in his own house early in the morning. Adding to this, Amrik Singh has been detained by the Punjab Police at his home in his native village Bhar Singh Pura. Keeping security concerns in mind these steps have been taken.

On the occasion of PM Modi’s rally in Jalandhar, traffic will not be allowed to move through the PAP Chowk from 2 PM on Friday. The routes from the city towards Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Chandigarh have been diverted by the police administration. The police have put sign boards and barricades at the PAP Chowk for the people so that they can be guided.

PM Modi on Thursday started his Punjab Lok Sabha Campaign from Patiala. He addressed the rally for around 30 minutes and stated the welfare works done by the Central government. In Patiala, PM Modi was joined by Preneet Kaur, Hans Raj Han, and many other BJP leaders on the stage.
