Gurdas Maan Apology: Veteran Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan recently issued an unconditional apology with folded during an interview on TV. Gurdas Maan's apology comes as the Punjabi singer has been marred with multiple controversies over his remarks. During the interview, Gurdas Maan with folded hands said, "If my speech hurt anyone’s feelings, I sincerely apologize with folded hands and holding my ears."

As per reports,Gurdas Maan has faced controversy on two major occasions. Once, during an overseas tour, he used inappropriate language towards some protesting youths at one of his shows. Earlier, Maan had sparked outrage with his statement prioritizing Hindi over Punjabi, saying, “First Hindi, then Punjabi.”

Additionally, at the Dera Baba Murad Shah Mela in Nakodar, Maan made a comment from the stage, claiming that Sai Laddi Shah was a descendant of the third Sikh Guru, Guru Amar Das Ji. When a video of this statement went viral, Sikh organizations were outraged. They staged a three-day protest in front of Nakodar police station and the SSP office in Jalandhar (Rural).

When no legal action was taken, the organizations blocked the highway. The police eventually registered a case against Gurdas Maan for hurting religious sentiments. After the controversy escalated, Maan released a video apologizing. In the Facebook video, Maan said, “It was never my intention to hurt anyone’s sentiments, but if it happened, I deeply apologize.”

Thereafter, Gurdas Maan was granted anticipatory bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. His bail plea was earlier rejected by the Jalandhar district court. Gurdas Maan was booked under Sections 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code at Nakodar City police station in the district.
