The investigation into the grenade attack case at BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia's home in Jalandhar is getting deeper day by day. Late at night on April 7, unidentified men travelling via E-rickshaw hurled a grenade at Manoranjan Kalia's home i.e. near Shastri Market Chowk in Jalandhar. Following this multiple Punjab leaders including Ravneet Bittu, Ashwani Sharma etc visited Kalia's home. Not only this, Punjab Cabinet Minister from AAP Mohinder Bhagat visited Kalia's home and outlined that such incidents in Punjab are being carried out by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang along with Pakistani secret service ISI.
However, in less than 12 hours, Punjab Police solved the case and arrested two accused and even seized the E-rickshaw used to carry out the bomb attack. In the meanwhile, a new CCTV footage has emerged in which the third accused has been identified as Shadir Ali son Buttan Khan resident of village Soliya, city Bandayu, district Uttar Pradesh.
In the new CCTV, Shadir can be seen roaming on platform 3 of the railway station. The accused had made Shadir deposit Rs 3500 in the account. As per the information received, the accused went with his brother to keep the said money at home after withdrawing money from the ATM. It is seen in the CCTV that the accused has a phone in one hand and money in the other hand.
What has been revealed till now during the interrogation?
During interrogation of the arrested suspects—Ravinder Kumar alias Harry and Satish alias Kaka—it was revealed that the duo first came into contact with Shadir near the bus stand on March 7. Shadir reportedly befriended the two over alcohol, offering beer and then asking for a Google Pay account to transfer money in exchange for a ride in their e-rickshaw.
Kaka provided his cousin Harry’s number, following which Rs 3,500 was transferred to Harry’s account. The same night, Harry left with the cash. Lured by the money, both brothers eventually agreed to Shadir’s plan to carry out the grenade attack. Initially hesitant, they were later convinced by Shadir to go through with the act.
As per the police report, on the night of the attack, the trio reached Shastri Market, where they halted the auto near the police station. Shadir then threw the grenade before fleeing. He later changed clothes near Domoria Bridge and escaped on foot to the railway station.
