Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Update
The historic project from Katra to Sangaldan is 272 km long. The special thing is that this phase also includes the Chenab Bridge, which is the world's highest arch bridge. This bridge connects the rail route from Delhi to Kashmir via Katra.
On April 10, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director (ED/IP) of Information and Publicity, Railway Board, highlighted the importance of the 272-km long USBRL (Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link) project, which also includes a 119-km long tunnel. Speaking to a news wire, Kumar said that the project is expected to boost connectivity, tourism, and religious importance for the Kashmir region. Running a train to Kashmir has been every Indian's dream.
He said that we have done a long preparation for this and now this USBRL section is ready. This 272-km section has a 119-km long tunnel. He further revealed that on the day of its inauguration, two Vande Bharat Express trains will start service, one from Srinagar and the other from Katra to Srinagar.
On January 23, Indian Railways conducted a trial run of the first Vande Bharat train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) railway station to Srinagar railway station. The train will pass through India's first cable-stayed railway bridge Anji Khand Bridge and the world's highest railway bridge Chenab Bridge. The train has been designed keeping in mind the cold climatic conditions of the Kashmir Valley.

The Vande Bharat Express will depart from Katra railway station and reach Srinagar via Reasi, Sangaldan, Banihal, Kanjigund, and Anantnag.
Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Train Ticket Price
As per reports, the ticket price of Vande Bharat Train between Katra to Srinagar is expected to be Rs 1500-1700 for the AC Chair Car and Rs 2400-Rs2600 for the Executive Chair Car.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Vande Bharat Express from Delhi to Katra is already operational. The train number is 22439. It passes through stations like Ambala, Ludhiana, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tavi, and then Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
