With a rapid surge in demand to connect every major region of India with premium Vande Bharat Express routes, the Indian Railways are all set to launch a new Vande Bharat in Bihar. As per reports, the Indian Railways is preparing to launch a new Vande Bharat Express train connecting Saharsa in Bihar to the national capital New Delhi. If Saharsa-Delhi Vande Bharat turns into a reality, it will be a much-needed direct semi-high-speed rail link from the Kosi region to the national capital. The new train will significantly benefit passengers from Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, and Patna, cutting travel time drastically.
Muzaffarpur-New Delhi Vande Bharat, Saharsa-New Delhi Vande Bharat Update
As of now, trains from Muzaffarpur to Delhi take around 20–22 hours. Therefore, if Vande Bharat is cleared by the Indian Railways for Bihar, then this journey is expected to be completed in just 13 hours, saving passengers up to five hours.
The Samastipur Rail Division has begun preparations for the Saharsa–Delhi route. In addition to the Vande Bharat Express, an Amrit Bharat train is also expected to operate between Saharsa and Delhi, but via Darbhanga and Sitamarhi instead of Muzaffarpur.
Live Hindustan reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may inaugurate the Saharsa-Delhi Amrit Bharat train on April 24. Infrastructure development for the maintenance of both trains is underway at Saharsa station.
It is pertinent to mention here that the official announcement from the Railway Board is still awaited. However, reports suggest that the timetable will be released once preparations are complete. The new service is poised to bring faster and more convenient travel options to northern Bihar, especially the long-overlooked Kosi region.
Muzaffarpur to Delhi in 13 hours
The people of Kosi and North Bihar will benefit from the running of the Vande Bharat train between Saharsa and New Delhi. They will be able to travel to Delhi in less time. Currently, the Dibrugarh Rajdhani and Swatantrata Senani Express take the least time of 18 hours between Muzaffarpur and Delhi. This journey can be completed in just 13 hours by Vande Bharat train.
