Punjab weather update: Rain expected on THIS date, temperature to fall due to weather changes

Recently, the temperature had started to rise in Punjab-Chandigarh due to cold waves. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of fog or rain till 16th February. 

However, after 16th February there are chances of rainfall in Punjab. As per the Apple weather app, the state may experience rain soon.

When is rain expected in Punjab?

According to the Apple weather app, on 20th February, Thursday, cities across Punjab, including Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana East, are predicted to experience rainfall.

As per the Apple weather app, there is a 70% chance of precipitation in Jalandhar and Amritsar whereas there is a 65% of precipitation in Ludhiana East.

Additionally, a new western disturbance is located over northern Pakistan. Due to the western disturbance, the Meteorological Department has predicted a decrease of up to 2 degrees in the maximum and minimum temperatures in the coming two days.

According to experts of the weather department, there are chances of cloud cover in Chandigarh and some areas of Punjab from 13th February. This situation is being created due to the effect of western disturbance.

Apart from this, the wind pattern system is not supporting the intensity of the western disturbance. Along with this, the humidity is also decreasing. At the same time, this change in the weather is also being seen due to less snowfall on the mountains.

In view of the changing weather across the country in the next few days, people have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions.

However, the maximum temperature in Punjab and Chandigarh has been continuously increasing since the last few days. Recently, the temperature of a total of 8 districts of the state had crossed 25 degrees. These districts included Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Mohali, Pathankot, Ludhiana, Patiala, Fazilka, Fatehgarh Sahib and Ropar.
